CUPCAKE WARS- SEASON TWO.... we give it a second shot folks! |

Ok... so, competition is tight, there are lots of bakeries that are vying to be on this show on Food Network and Season One was filled pretty quickly, but have no fear Lily Lane Cakes fans... yesterday we got a call, a wonderful call. A new team of casting folks are starting up and casting for the second season of Cupcake Wars and they called us up to see if we wanted to throw in for it again this year. Given its not like we are a shoe in or anything, but at least we are a little ahead of the game this time. We are going to work a tad on the original video (the recruit training video, if you recall, lol) and then send it in. We will re-post it as soon as we get it set up again. So that is that, keep your fingers and toes crossed for us (PLEASE!!!!) and we will keep you posted on the happenings! In the meantime, keep the orders coming and check out Stacy's in Falls Church for the latest on cupcake flavors. So, I have taken forever to update my blog...in my defense my home computer is on the fritz. I think has some personal issues with me or my files perhaps, it seems to work just when it wants to. I think I am not capable of diagnosing my computer's attitude problems, I may the Geek Squad for that. So, a few weeks have passed now, but it was the Discovery Station Learning Center's first birthday on June 18th. They had a huge party for all their clients and kids that evening and needed a cake to really make the event, so they called on Lily Lane Cakes! Since the center has a "train" theme, we decided that we wanted to focus on that and designed a cake to feed about 250 people with a miniature train running through the second tier of the cake. I think it was about as much fun to make as it was to look at when it was finally finished. On the 18th, we delivered the cake to an excited and amazing staff and the center. Many of the kids where present when it was set up and were just mesmerized by the cake. It was a great success and we are so happy to have been able to have been a part of The Discovery Station Learning Center's first Anniversary.
