And.... we rise again!

Ok guys and gals, so far this year has been too fast to track! But I promise from now on, blog posts will be regular!

We have SO many cool and awesome things going on and we want everyone to be a part. So... let me get started!

First- Lily Lane Cakes was contacted by Food Network to apply to be casted for the new show "Cupcake Wars," a couple of weeks ago. After the initial contact we waited patiently... not really expecting anything. Then the next week got a call saying that they were indeed interested in us and for us to prep a 3-5 minute video that showed them the personality of the Baker/Owner (me) and the head assistant and/or team. So we put together this INSANE video and my friends... please, please, please forgive me for defiling the Corps if you are a fellow servicemember... its all in good fun. But as a former Marine, shoot how could I pass on the opportunity to have a Cupcake Recruit Training?! So check out the video and let me know your thoughts. (no children of cupcakers were injured in the making of this video!)

Next- I *think* we have chosen our possible location in Woodbridge Virginia! Its a great size shop and God willing we can pull it all together and open up shop by the summer. Stay tuned!

Finally... OUR NEW WEBSITE! You will soon be introduced to Lily Lane Cakes' new look! I LOVE the new site, think its super sweet (in a non-caloric way) and user friendly. I hope you love it too and visit often. So keep checking back, as soon as my amazing web builder at NolaFlash.com is done with it, we will go live. So check back by the end of the week for the new look!

Ok... a rather long post- sorry! But keep us in mind, check through our new gallery images and see some amazing work we have been doing and I hope we can soon provide something to wow your guests too!

Hi there cupcake and cake lovers. The summer is in full swing and we are continuing to stay busy with some of your crazy and awesome requests. This week we had a few new challenges which we embraced (I mean really, what else would I do?!?) and a few new nifty cakes in the gallery to show for it. So keep them coming folks, we LOVE it!

We have a few new flavors for your pleasure and are also still working on the new look of the website, so be patient with us!

New flavors- PB&J with an oober yummy whipped peanut butter icing. A few others that are recent additions- The Malibu, Tirimasu and the summer fave- Pretty N' Pink.

Remember to get your orders for cupcakes in early and for sculpted cakes in even earlier. While our schedule isn't tight as Charm City (amazing sculpted cakes of Food Network Fame) we do tend to turn a lot of last minute cake requests do to scheduling conflicts. So call us often and call us early ;)

This week we will be dawning the Triple Berry Independence Cakes at the local shops, so keep your eyes peeled for those and get em fast, they don't last long!

Of course, don't forget to follow us on Twitter for last minute specials and imeadiate news and become a Facebook fan!

The Scooby Cake was an amazing success! The kids and adults loved the cake! It looked so real that they thought it was a sculpture! The Lily Lane Scooby Cake was better than anything we could have imagined!
