Lily Lanes Cakes is a Northern Virginia locally owned and operated bakery that creates gourmet cakes and cupcakes for all occasions.
We have a strong commitment to preserving our environment and make every effort to keep our company eco-friendly. To do this, we order only recycled materials and use local produce whenever possible. All the paper we print on and bakery boxes which can not be recycled after use, are purchased 100% recycled materials. We compost all raw organic materials leftover while creating our products. The compost is used in a local co-op garden in Springfield Virginia to produce some of the wonderful fruits and vegetables used in our cakes. Other produce that is not procured from this garden is all purchased from local farmers or organic markets. When a fruit or vegetable is no longer in season, the cake is not in season either.
Our ingredients are natural and contain no preservatives. We make every effort to create a cake that is as conscious of your health as it is beautiful and delicious. We do not add any products to our cakes that are chemically altered such as artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Our cakes are always fresh and made to order.
At Lily Lane we are committed to the satisfaction of each and every customer, from the five year old who loves chocolate cupcakes, to the Red Velvet die hard getting married in a month.
About the Cakester
Kathy was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University before moving on to the Corcoran College of Art and Design studying mixed media sculpture and oil painting.
In 2001, Kathy and her husband welcomed their premature baby boy Alex into the world. With the stress of raising a high needs kiddo, Kathy had to put up her paintbrushes and concentrate on her budding family. However if you know any artist, you know that it’s not just something they do, its who they are. It didn’t take long before Kathy started to combine two things that she absolutely loved- baking and sculpting!
Before long, Lily Lane Cakes was created as a tribute to Kathy’s daughter Lily, who is her critic, apprentice and expert taste tester. And of course, Alex plays a big part being the brain behind Lily Lane’s star cupcake: Alex’s Chocolate Monkeycake.
Today, Kathy is constantly creating amazing new flavors of cupcakes and wowing people with her beautiful and unique cakes.
